Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal information — written in plain English and compliant with BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

The short version

We collect the minimum information we need to answer your call, show up at your home, give you a quote, treat the problem, and guarantee the work. We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with anyone except the providers who help us deliver your service. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement to understand how the site performs and improve it — gated behind your consent on the cookie banner. If you ever want us to delete everything we have on you, email ola@mimocasa.com and we will, within thirty days.

What we collect, and why

  • Contact details — name, phone, email, service address. Used to respond to your inquiry, schedule a visit, and honour our guarantee.
  • Service history — dates, technicians, treatments, pests found, photos of the work. Kept for our guarantee window plus seven years for tax and audit compliance.
  • Payment information — processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We never see or store full card numbers.
  • Analytics — first-party visitor analytics (anonymous-id cookie, page paths, referrer) via our own server. We also load Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads measurement only after you accepton the cookie banner — used to understand how the site performs and to measure the effectiveness of our search ads. Decline the banner and the third-party scripts never load. Your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting is honored for our first-party analytics regardless of consent choice.
  • Pest identification uploads — photos submitted to /identifyare processed by Anthropic’s Claude API for species ID. We retain uploads for seven days for quality review, then delete them.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with parties who need it to deliver your service: our technicians, our accounting provider, our payment processor (Stripe), our communications vendors (Telnyx for SMS/voice, Resend for email), and Google for ad measurement (when you’ve accepted the cookie banner). We do not sell data. We do not license customer lists to third-party marketers.

Cookies & ad measurement

When you accept the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 and the Google Ads tag. These set cookies that let us measure page performance, conversion paths, and ad effectiveness. When a customer who clicked one of our Google ads later books a paid service, we upload an anonymized signal (hashed email or phone) to Google Ads so it can optimize who sees our ads. You can revoke consent any time by clearing your browser’s site data for thewildpest.com — the banner will reappear and you can decline.

If you decline, no Google scripts load, no Google cookies are set, and no ad-measurement signals are sent. Our first-party analytics (anonymous visit-counting, no profile, no cross-site) still operates because it’s necessary for site operations and security — but it honors Do Not Track automatically.

How long we keep it

Contact details and service records: seven years from your last visit, for tax compliance and warranty support. Photos from treatments: three years from the treatment date. Payment tokens: managed by Stripe per their retention policy. Pest-ID uploads: seven days.
